Pilot Site 1
Treatment train for soil remediation

Location: Sweden

Test site: Fire training area

Pollution: Av. Concentration levels PFAS of 100 µg/kg, with sub-areas in the range 500-1000 µg/kg (mainly PFOS present)

Treatment train:

  1. Soil foam fractination

  2. Biological treatment

  3. Advanced oxidation process

  4. Granular activated carbon

Pilot Site 2
treatment train for Groundwater remediation

Location: Scaligeri, Italy

Test site: Municipal drinking water borehole and pumping station, reactivated as a pilot PFAS treatment site for the Vicenza water utility, located in the industrial area at the outskirts of Vicenza.

Pollution: Groundwater impacted by PFAS from a legacy industrial source in the Vicenza area.
Sum of PFAS in the Scaligeri borehole is in the low µg/L range, typically around 1,000 to 3,000 ng/L, with PFOA dominant and additional PFAS such as PFOS and several short-chain compounds present.

Treatment train:

  1. Advanced oxidation process

  2. Granular activated carbon
